Changes Proposed to CIEDRA

According to the April 11 issue of the Idaho Mtn Express, Rep. Mike Simpson has proposed some  changes to CIEDRA.  The Mt. Express reports that Rep. Simpson was confident that CIEDRA was soon to get a new hearing.  As presently written, the Sierra Club is opposed to CIEDRA (click here to read Executive Director of the Sierra Club, Carl Pope's letter to the U.S. House of Representatives opposing CIEDRA).

In the near future, the national Sierra Club, with input from the Sawtooth Group, will be evaluating the proposed changes to determine if there will be any change in the Club’s position.

We will post the results of those deliberations.
