Cool Cities

Boise is the first city in Idaho to take the lead with the "U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement" which challenges mayors, nationwide, to take local action to combat global warming: to reduce their global-warming pollution to 7% below 1990 level by 2012.

Boise became the 280th city to sign; currently over 300 cities with a population of approximately 50 million people have agreed to try to meet the Kyoto Accords.  On August 16, 2006 Mayor Bieter committed to local solutions and innovative actions to re-energize our city. We can help lead our country and our world into a new energy future. And that's cool.

The Middle Snake Group is part of the Cool Boise Community Coalition launching an exciting grassroots energy campaign to build a community which protects our climate and our health, saving money on energy. The campaign aims to get people thinking and talking about the future of energy in Idaho, and to celebrate local and independent businesses and producers.

Please contact Jessica at 208/384-1023 to find out how you can help Boise's Cool City campaign.  We need volunteers to help make our city cool.
