OUR NEXT MEETING

Whether you are already a member of the Sierra Club or you're simply interested in getting involved or learning more about local environmental issues, please join us! All are welcome and we would love the opportunity to meet you!

DATE:

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2009

TIME:

10:00 AM

LOCATION:

POCATELLO COMMUNITY CHARTER SCHOOL
995 S. ARTHUR IN POCATELLO

Please join the Sierra Club and others concerned about green, renewable energy and learn more about the installation of Pocatello's first wind turbine and the exciting and environmentally-conscious happenings at the very-green Pocatello Community Charter School (PCCS). Thanks to your involvement and support, we were able to raise $1500 to donate to the completion of the wind turbine project at PCCS!

We will meet with Project Manager, Billie Johnson and PCCS Dean, Dr. Martha Martin, as they share the exciting adventure story of the first wind turbine to be installed - right in our own backyard! We'll get an up-close tour of the wind turbine site from Billie Johnson. Dr. Martin will also provide a guided tour of the Pocatello Community Charter School (PCCS) to demonstrate all the ways in which the school has incorporated green standards into its construction and curriculum. For even more information about this terrific school, please visit their website at www.pccs.k12.id.us/home.

Meet us at the front door of PCCS at 10am on Saturday, November 14. Your friends, neighbors, and children are all welcome!

Please join us as we learn more about wind energy and where our conservation dollars are going in the southeast Idaho region. Hope to see you there!

OUR MISSION
To explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the earth; to practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources; to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.

OUR MEMBERS
The Club has over 1.3 million members and supporters. Members are organized into 62 chapters and almost 400 groups. Our local Eastern Idaho group currently has 350 members. To achieve its mission, the Sierra Club has organized persons of shared environmental concerns into a powerful and effective force for protecting the natural environment. As a grassroots-based organization, we rely on individuals for our resources, talent, and energy. Our members are our most important assets. We are the Sierra Club. We are members helping other members. We trust and respect members and acknowledge their full range of contributions.
